This is a special and exciting QBM — a private tour of the newly built Amazon facility in the City of Woodburn. We'll hear from the individuals who worked on this incredible 3.8 million square foot building project. This is a meeting you DO NOT want to miss!

Join OBOA members and colleagues on a walking tour of the newly built Amazon facility in the City of Woodburn.  The new Amazon Woodburn facility is a 3.8 million square foot steel structure, five story white and blue distribution center. The building is nearly completed, with the conveyors and robotic equipment currently being installed.

Hear from Clair Company, the plan review team, to learn about the plan review processes and alternate construction methods that were proposed in the construction of this new building. You'll have the opportunity to ask questions about inspections to Brian Pascoe, the City’s commercial building inspector.

We will be touring the facility by foot, so make sure you wear comfortable boots!  Remember this facility is under construction and all attendees must bring and wear the required PPE (personal protective equipment); hard hat, boots, gloves, hi visibility construction vest, long pants and safety glasses.  Please make sure you bring your PPE with you to have a guaranteed spot on the tourIf you will not be able to bring PPE, please email the OBOA office before February 9; a very limited supply may be available but not guaranteed.

The City of Woodburn, Clair Company, Layton (GC), and representatives from Group Mackenzie are excited to share their experiences. OBOA invites our fire friends and colleagues to also attend as there will be fire systems reviewed onsite during the tour. We hope that you will join us and tour the new Amazon facility before it launches to the public.

Our popular and well-attended QBMs also offer timely association and industry news and updates. A lot of valuable information is shared and discussed among building safety peers from around the entire state. In addition to great education by multiple presenters, the OBOA QBM is the perfect forum for valuable roundtable-style discussion — quality time to connect with colleagues who deal with the same issues you see daily. We also hear about the latest from committees, State Boards, and other partner industry organizations. Come with questions and ideas and stay connected professionally with OBOA.

Meeting Locations (2 Places to Go)

The QBM will start at Chemeketa Woodburn Center (120 E Lincoln St., Woodburn, OR 97071), located on the corner of N Front St. railroad tracks and E Lincoln. Registration, coffee and pastries will be available at 8:30 am and the meeting will begin promptly at 9 am. There is limited complimentary parking in the lot around the building with overflow across Lincoln St. Carpooling is strongly encouraged. We will have an early lunch at Chemeketa Woodburn until approximately 12 pm (noon).

We will then break and immediately reconvene at the Amazon building for the site tour (~7-minute drive). Each individual will be responsible for getting to Amazon on their own (no transportation will be provided) and specific details for entering the property will be provided to registered attendees the week of the meeting. The tour is scheduled to last until 2 pm and we will end at Amazon). Only individuals with PPE will be allowed into the building.
