REQUIRED EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE Education: A degree from an approved two year inspection-related educational program or equivalent. Experience: A minimum of two (2) years of construction or inspection-related experience or its equivalent. Substitution: An approved one year inspection-related education program and one year of construction or inspection-related experience or be a registered Oregon Architect, a certified Oregon Professional Engineer, or have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in architecture or civil or structural engineering. Desirable Qualifications: Additional building inspection certificates beyond the minimum required are desirable such as: State of Oregon Manufactured Structure Installation Inspector and International Code Council Fire Plans Examiner Certifications.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS License: Possession of, or the ability to obtain and retain an Oregon driver license by the time of appointment. Certificates: Possession of, or the ability to obtain within 30 days of start date a valid Oregon Inspector Certification (OIC). Possession of, or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire at least one or more of the following: State of Oregon A-level Structural Inspector Certification A-level Mechanical Inspector Certification A-level Plumbing Inspector Certification and Medical Gas Inspector Certification A-level Electrical Inspector Certification International Code Council Commercial Building Inspector Certification International Code Council Commercial Mechanical Inspector Certification State of Oregon A-Level Plans Examiner and Fire Life Safety Plans Examiner Certifications International Code Council Commercial Building Plans Examiner or International Code Council Fire Plans Examiner Certifications.
