 About this Presentation

This presentation will provide an overview of the best practices for the role of the post-earthquake inspector for posting of buildings after an earthquake or other disaster. This class is based on best practices from ATC-20, ATC-45 and Cal OES Safety Assessment (SAP) Evaluator training.

Learning Objectives

  • The training provides standardized approach for inspectors to evaluate the safety of buildings after an earthquake, flood or windstorm.
  • The class will provide an overview of risks from natural disasters in Oregon.
  • Provides an overview of coordination required to manage damage assessment after a disaster.
  • We will discuss how the damage assessment will be used for public safety and recovery.

This course has been approved for six hours (0.6 CEUs) of credit for continuing education within the ICC PPP. Attendees must participate in both sessions to earn continuing education credit (CEUs).

Registration includes attendance at both sessions on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons, materials (PowerPoint slides) as provided by the speaker, and continuing education credit (CEUs) through the International Code Council Preferred Provider Program. Upon registration on the OBOA website, attendees will receive a confirmation email that contains important details to access the meeting, which will be held via Zoom. Only registered attendees will be admitted to attend the meeting; Zoom access details may not be shared. Zoom access details will be the same for both sessions.

IMPORTANT: Upon entry to the webinar, be sure your "Name" is set with your full first and last name (ex: John Smith) -- NO phone numbers or nicknames -- for security purposes. Numbers and/or unrecognized names will not be allowed to enter. We appreciate your compliance with this standard protocol.

OBOA strongly encourages all participants to access the webinars with a highspeed internet connection (wired is typically the best option).
