You asked and we answered! We've enhanced this educational event for our members — this is our first institute that will feature a variety of class lengths (half and full day) and formats (in-person or virtual). This has been requested by members and OBOA strives to meet as many diverse educational needs as we can. This year's fall educational institute features fifteen total classes over four days on excellent topics for all building safety professionals. We invite building inspectors, building officials, plans examiners, permit techs, building administration, fire code and design professionals, contractors and remodelers, architects and any professionals looking for the quality educational trainings we provide. Our instructors work hard to customize and maximize our programs and content.

The four-day event will offer full-day class trainings held in-person at the Holiday Inn Portland South in Wilsonville, full-day class virtually via Zoom – AND – four half-day class trainings virtually, via Zoom (classes are separate, no combined virtual and in-person together). You can attend various classes either side by side fellow members or from the convenience of your office across town/the state!

Full-Day: 6 hours (0.6 CEUs)  |  Half-Day: 3 hours (0.3 CEUs) morning or afternoon
In-Person: Holiday Inn Portland South – Wilsonville  |  Virtual: Held via Zoom

Here is a quick breakdown of our class options:

  • Monday (in-person only) — Choose from four full-day class options

  • Wednesday (both in-person and virtual options) — Choose from two full-day in-person or two virtual half-day class options

Earn ICC Preferred Provider CEUs (continuing education units) — All OBOA programs offer valuable ICC Preferred Provider CEUs -- always through a great mix of important and high-quality continuing education. Earn your ICC CEUs with OBOA

OBOA is a proud to be part of the International Code Council Preferred Provider Program (ICC PPP) network. All OBOA classes are approved for ICC PPP continuing education credit (units). Take our popular and high-quality classes for application or renewal of your ICC certifications.

The use of Preferred Provider or ICC training is required as a condition of all certification renewals, so that classes you take through OBOA directly enhance your professional development. ICC certificate holders must obtain a specified number of CEUs every three years in order to maintain their certifications and a portion of these CEUs must be obtained through Preferred Provider or ICC training. OBOA offers an extensive schedule of events for members and colleagues to earn their CEUs.

To receive ICC CEUs for your attendance, each participant must attend the class in its entirety (i.e. all six hours of instruction); partial credit is not available. This is a requirement set by ICC providership. Please review each class date and times to ensure availability to attend. A sign-in and out sheet will be distributed for each class. Attendance is tracked for each session (for CEUs) by the times you log in and log out. It is each registrant's responsibility to accurately record their attendance at programs.
