Recognize outstanding people! The OBOA Awards Committee requests our members submit nominations for individuals deserving special recognition through our prestigious Awards Program. 

Do you know someone who deserves an OBOA award? Submitting an award nomination is a great way to acknowledge individuals who have distinguished themselves in service to the association and/or profession. The OBOA Awards Committee requires your recommendations by June 13 to be considered. The awards will be presented on July 17 during the 2025 OBOA Annual Business Meeting.

We are accepting nominations in the following categories: Building Official of the Year, “Rick Best Memorial” Permit Technician of the Year, Building Inspector of the Year, Plans Examiner of the Year, Newcomer of the Year, and Special Recognition Awards. The Special Recognition Awards are for acknowledgment as you see fit (the “catch all” category), which allows for a member to be recognized for any/all efforts that do not necessarily fall into the other categories. Past examples include “Extraordinary Outreach Efforts” and “Best Mentor of the Year” awards.

Can be for someone in another city/county! Nominations do not have to be from within your own jurisdiction.
