"Understanding, Applying and Enforcing 13D 2016"

Seminar Presented by National Fire Sprinkler Association (NFSA)

This is a six-hour class (one registration per person) -- simply split in half over two days for easier online attendance.
Attendees must participate in both sessions to earn continuing education credit (CEUs).

About this Webinar

As residential fire sprinkler systems become more widely recognized and adopted by communities it becomes more important than ever to understand the requirements for proper design and installation. NFPA 13D, Standard for the Installation of Fire Sprinkler Systems in One and Two‐Family Dwellings and Manufactured Homes is the primary standard governing design and installation for residential sprinklers. Understanding the requirements of the standard and how they are applied is the key to a solid enforcement program. This six-hour seminar will guide the participant through the requirements of NFPA 13D and identify how the standard is applied as well as the alternative approaches, such as IRC P2904.

Learning Objectives

  1. Discuss the scope and application of sprinkler standards for one and two family dwellings and townhomes.
  2. Identify the requirements for residential fire sprinkler system installation in accordance with NFPA 13D and IRC P2904.
  3. Apply the installation requirements and calculation procedures to various residential layouts.
  4. Develop an approach for coordinating installation inspection & testing.
